Revolution covers the story of the church from A.D. 30-47. The author wrote this book in 1974 during the Jesus movement. It is the most widely- read book on the earliest days of first-century Christians.
The story opens on the Day of Pentecost at 4 a.m. The priests had begun observing the rituals of this yearly festival.
From there, the story takes readers through virtually every day and/or event to the spring of the year 47. It closes with Paul leaving on his first church planting journey.
From the beginning and throughout the story, the author repeatedly asks the reader one question:
“Does this look like today’s Christianity?”
If you want to see what today’s Christianity is, in contrast to the earliest years of the church, this is your book. If you are content with today’s practice of Christianity, this is definitely not the book for you.

A história começa no Dia de Pentecostes em 4:00. Os sacerdotes começaram observando os rituais desse festival anual.
A partir daí, a história leva os leitores através praticamente todos os dias e/ou evento para a primavera do ano 47 Fecha com Paulo deixando em sua primeira viagem a plantação de igrejas.
Desde o início e ao longo da história, o autor pede repetidamente ao leitor uma pergunta:
"Isto se parece com o cristianismo de hoje?"
Se você quiser ver o que o cristianismo de hoje é, em contraste com os primeiros anos da Igreja, este é o seu livro. Se você está satisfeito com o treino de hoje do cristianismo, este definitivamente não é o livro para você.
Revolução, A História da Igreja Primitiva é a reconstrução mais completa dos primeiros dias da ekklesia. Seu conteúdo nunca foi igualado. É pouco provável que alguém já ousou expor a ousadia de seu autor em lembrando-nos de que os crentes tiveram nos primeiros 17 anos e do fato de que hoje não se assemelha a nenhum desses dias antigos. Este livro não é literatura evangélica típica. É literatura revolucionária por um revolucionário comprometido.
